Lee’s Tom Hodges is breathtaking. Blooms sit at perfect angles and reach around 5 inches across. Words don’t do this beauty justice. The center starts out a very unique shade of buff orange that morphs into a bubblegum pink tip. The petal shape is so classy, yet delicate. Blooms always hold their center and while the plant is shorter, around 3.5’, the stems are long and sturdy. Cut deep to encourage long stems. Every once in a while you’ll get blooms that are complete orange, or have full orange or white petals. Bicolors complement each other perfectly.  These beauties will be planted in the very front of the garden next season. They are simply perfect.

This specific dahlia is a very special because it was chosen by and named after Lee’s good friend, Tom Hodges. Tom was diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease in 2020 and he lost his long fight April 5, 2025. Hybridized by Lee Hemmings Carlton of Goldenrod Gardens and released in 2024.
